I wish you much luck on your journey to get your Master's degree! I know that it'll be very tough, especially with your career, but I know you can do it! I'm also so jealous that you were able to travel out west. I've always wanted to visit the Grand Canyon. :)

Hello, I'm Morgan Johnson of class period 4. This summer I did many things. I was busy the whole time. Something I really enjoyed was going to a Forensics Camp where I learned about forensic science at Glenville State College. It's very small and located on the side of the mountain-literally. The whole campus had steep hills and sharp declines, I'm sure my calves are more muscled and lean than before.

Great Post Morgan! That Forensics camp sounds like an excellent opportunity. Do you know that HHS offers a forensics class as a science elective? I'm glad that you had such an excellent experience!

Forensic science is really cool! Also kind of what I want to do with my life, but instead of Forensics, Behavioral science (profiling etc.)

Hi, my name is Savanna, I am from period 3. Over the summer I went to a huge concert called Vans Warped Tour. I got to meet about 3 people and watch about 15. Even though, there are over 75 bands there. Also over the summer, I went to Myrtle Beach because my sister plays softball and she had the world series, which she placed 4th in.

Hello, this is Ashton Lazorick from class period 3. This summer was honestly the busiest summer that I've ever had. I've been in 4-H going on seven years now, and every summer, 4-H is all I focus on. I did have time to get together with friends, but not all that much. This year, I had 3 animals in the fair, but with a family as big as mine, I took care of about 17 animals! I typically just show a lamb and a rabbit, but this year my donkey, June, was shown as well. The fair went very smoothly and I won over all grand champion rabbit showman (I never realized how much of a mouthful that actually is).

Charli Sween here. This past summer was very busy for me towards July and August. June was kind of slow, there was not too much going on. In July, I got a job working at Berkeley Plaza Theatres. I went to Busch Gardens and the beach in August.

I'm in Ms.Gearhart's period 3 class. This summer I worked a lot and went camping. I went to a ROTC summer camp for a week also. I learned how to take drywall out quickly and effectively. I am nervous about writing assignments because I am not a good writer.

My name is Shelby Silveous and I am in 3rd period. Over the summer I had many wonderful and exciting things happen. My favorite happened back on August 5th. On that day at 2:00 p.m. I went in for the Miss Berkeley County Youth Fair interview. The interview went very well and the judges claimed I was the most enthusiastic. Directly after, all of the contestants, including myself, went to the stage portion of the competition. The 13 of us went through one round of questions to see who the lucky five girls were who made the top five. As the judges were deliberating their decision, all of us were patiently waiting. The mc went on the stage and announced one by one who the top five were. "Contestant number 2 Taylor, contestant number 11 Allanah, contestant number 6 Shelby, Contestant number 8 Alexis, and finally contestant number 10 Bethanie." I couldn't believe I made it. After we walked the stage one last time, it was ready for results. He worked his way from fourth runner up down. The final two were left, myself and Alexis. "Our first runner up is Alexis, which means our new 2016 queen is Shelby Silveous. That day was the best day of my life. I was thrilled and crying all at the same time. That day made my summer so much better.

I'm Boni Macias and I'm in period three. The only exciting thing I did was travel. I went to Peru for about two months to go visit family and friends. We stayed in a region on the Amazon called Loreto and we stayed in the city of Iquitos. My mom is from Iquitos so all my family is there. one thing I really enjoyed was eating all the fresh food since their cuisine is the best thing ever. Another really cool thing was all the trips we took to the Amazon River, and since we were right in the middle of the Amazon it was only a five minute walk to the nearest beach.

Hey, my name is Sydney and I'm in Ms. Gearhart's 3rd period class! This summer I went on vacation for two weeks with my mother, father and brother. For the first week, my mother and I traveled to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. After the first week, my father and brother flew in, and we traveled to Charleston, South Carolina to spend the remainder of our time. During these two weeks, I had a marvelous time and got some what of a tan. This school year, I'm excited to start up a new season and cheer on our football team every Friday night.

Hi, I'm Alicyn and over the summer I had to move houses, which was quite stressful considering we only had 15 days to move out and clean the house. After my family and I had moved in, I was out with my friends half the time. If I wasn't out I listened to music and sat in my room. I didn't do much, but towards the end of the summer I was out more with my friends.

I did this so I could be ready and make the Varsity team. I am excited to run track and to finish the cross county season. A member of my cross country team also got me interested in speech and debate. In which I am very excited about.

Hello! I'm Leslie Colandrea and I'm in 3rd period. This summer I didn't really do much. I spent a lot of time working with my father and spending time with my family. The only really exciting part of my summer was when I went to Miami, Florida for three days with my father and two cousins. It was one of my dads business trips and he let my cousins and I tag along. It was a great trip filled with laughs, sunburns, delicious restaurants, and messy icecream. This summer I also got a new dog. She is a German Shepherd and we got her for my male German Shepherd, so now he has a wife. Overall I didn't have a crazy adventurous summer, but it was still very pleasant. This year I don't have to many fears other than falling behind in my classes. I want to ensure that I stay on top of things and be productive.

Hi, I'm Donnie Poole an I'm in your third period English class. An I'm excited for your class this year because I'm not the biggest fan of reading fiction, so perhaps u can enlighten me an change my opinion this year. Also my summer wasn't the most exciting, it mostly consisted of golf practices an a few tournaments. However my family an I did get to go on a few trips to the beach and other destinations. I also had a few lesson to further my playing ability with the violin for coming concerts this year.

Hi! My name is Natalie Linton, and I am in 3rd period. My summer was by far one of the most adventurous and family oriented I have had in a long time. My older sister returned from her first year of college and our entire family took our annual trip to Myrtle Beach. We stayed for 10 days, rather than a week like we normally do. While we were there, we went to many shows, rode really fun amusement rides, and lodged at the beach and pool. The rest of the summer we didn't do much. We had bonfires every other weekend and for the 4th of July, we had a big party with friends.

Hey, I am Myles Mason from your 3rd period class. My summer was overall one of the best I have ever had. Over the summer, my family traveled to Myrtle Beach and Canaan Valley. We stayed at Kingston Plantation in Myrtle on a 7 day trip. Canaan was a rather short, three day weekend trip. However, most of my summer was spent on the football field practicing and trying to turn the Hedgesville Football Program around. We recently just won our second of three games. This is something Hedgesville hasn't done in 12 years. I hope to keep winning and having a blast doing so. All of that hard work that the team put in during the months of June- August has certainly paid off so far. I am looking forward to my sophomore year of high school, and especially this class. I love to write, yet I don't care for reading too much. The books we are going to read this year could possibly change that though. I cannot wait to see what's in store this year for period three honors, I am truly excited!

Hello, my name is Maria Mazone, but many people know me as Mia. Over the summer I traveled to Florida and New Jersey. My trip to Florida was very exciting because I got to visit my sister, Kylie, who had moved down there with her husband. I was thrilled to finally see her because she was been gone for so long. When I was visiting her we had done many fun things like spend time on the beach, go hydro-biking, and went to a few different restaurants. It sucked really bad when I had to come back home to West Virginia. When I had gone on the trip to New Jersey I was able to see my family that I had not seen in a very long time. When I was there my mother and I had gone to the board walk and went to the beach with my aunt. That pretty much sums up the best parts of my summer. :)
