I agree you but I also think it wasn't only lady Macbeth because when the witches told him about him becoming king he was already having thoughts like that but yes lady Macbeth did In fact push and pressure him into doing it using his pride against him.

For question one, I think Macbeth was born good. I don't think he was born evil in fact I think he was born as a good man, greed, pressure, and pride pushed him in to doing all that he's done. So I'm sure he becomes it. As for lady Macbeth I think she was born good too but something sometime in her life may have affected her to make her as she is today. I don't think anyone in naturally born evil I think something has to happen to them between their youngest ages as they get older that makes them more independent and less merciful to other and that reminds me of lady Macbeth.

I agree with you Natalie because I believe nobody is born to be evil. So it takes stuff like greed, pressure, or even revenge to push someone to be evil. And just like Lady Macbeth did with Macbeth she pretty must pushed him into killing the king as in result turning him evil or insane (how ever you look at it) and want to push to kill more people to get his way.

I agree, Macbeth is like Lincoln, whose presidency partially caused the Civil War. Macbeth is in the wrong place at the worst possible time, but unlike Lincoln, he makes problems for himself instead of worrying about the country's state ( which would've made him seem less suspicious in the first place).

I agree, it also adds to the religious imagery throughout the play, with the doctor suggesting she needs a priest rather than a medical doctor. He could be saying she is demonic or poessed by other worldly beings.

True, the doctor does give the reader an idea on Lady Macbeth's lost sanity, but I believe he also represents the view of other people on the king and queen. Though he is mistaken that all the symptoms are part of her sleepwalking, he, as well as the gentle woman, are blind to her confession to the murdering of Duncan. It seems to show how easy it was at the time to get away with such an act, as opposed to modern times.

I definitely agree with the what you said, and it was good that you mentioned how Macbeth chose to end his life in one way and Lady Macbeth did the same thing, just in a different way.

I believe that to be true.

I like this, it's a good way to explain the guilt, in a way that brings in the supernatural and explains a possible influence of the witches on her, as well as Macbeth.

Number 12, I think the significance of the witches being nurses kind of Emphasized how you think you can trust them. More people trust nurses they are supposed to help you feel better save your life so it shows how you can easily trust them. It gives them a lot of control over the people who see them like Macbeth who automatically trusts them. In this version I can understand how he would look over what they say and trust that they are telling the truth and of course he gets killed in the end witch shows how they had control he thought he was safe they twisted their words to make him think the favor was in his hands but instead they tricked him, confused him and in the end every aspiration he thought wasn't possible came true.

I agree, nurses are supposed to be able to be trusted with lives, it gives them perfect cover and non-magic supplies to work with to kill and or twist perceptions of people (like with drugs, possibly to get them to agree or to maybe stop them from paying attention, which would've been helpful for the dinner party scene).

While an interesting point, I disagree. The symbolism of the nurses, in my mind, represent the act of helping. The witches appear to be evil, but in Macbeth's eyes they appear to be assisting him carry out his fate as King.

I agree. Them being nurses also shows the irony of nurses typically helping or healing when the witches led people to their death, Macbeth was fooled into his demise.

2. What is "good" in Macbeth? In Lady Macbeth?

I totally agree. The two of them are filled with ambitions and dreams. Even Lady Macbeth's sadistic nature leads to cunning and ambitious traits.

I totally agree, and the quote wasn't something I would have thought to use for the question, but it tied in very nicely!

This is similar to a point I made on a previous post. I whole heartedly agree. Ironically, nurses should PREVENT death, not reinforce it.

Definitely, but I really love the irony with the witches as nurses, something very different. It gives it a new outlook.

the witches role just gives the reader more of a dark feeling. they are supposed to heal people and not try to kill them
