I agree. With this scene we see how scared piggy is and how kids their age can be scared by one another. It's like he doesn't wanna be left out but also wants his voice to be heard.

Even though this isn't a quote analysis, I do think you're right, the funny thing is that this almost reads like a script of Game Theory. It's very probable that Piggy could go rogue, as he seems to feel unwanted. It might have been enough to drive him over the edge maybe?

Truthfully, I get most my analysis "skills" from watching too much Game Theory. At any rate, it is definitely what pushed Piggy over the edge. As we see earlier, Piggy has already been called Piggy before and has felt neglected by it. Now that he is on an island with no parental authorities, Piggy can finally break free and be noticed more than just a little Piggy.

It's cool that you added in a personal experience, it would also make sense that they were led to the shell like that too.

"The silence was so complete that they could hear the unevenness of Piggy's breathing. The sun slanted in and lay golden over half the platform. The breezes that on the lagoon had chased their tails like kittens were finding their way across the platform and into the forest. Ralph pushes back the tangle of hair that hung on his forehead." ~Narrator (pg. 34)

"The fat boy waited to be asked his name in turn but this proffer of acquaintance was not made; the fair boy called Ralph smiled vaguely, stood up, and began to make his way once more toward the lagoon." - Narrator (pg.9)
